Aluminium 5086 Flat Bars are mainly made up of aluminium (about 93.5%) and are alloyed with magnesium (3.5%–4.5%), along with small amounts of iron, silicon, manganese, and chromium. This alloy is known for its remarkable corrosion resistance, particularly in marine settings, and it maintains its strength even after welding. The mechanical properties feature a tensile strength ranging from 275 to 350 MPa and a yield strength of around 125 MPa. It shows good elongation and excellent fatigue strength.
