Aluminium forgings of grade 1060 consist of a minimum of 99.6% aluminium with trace amounts of copper, iron, and silicon. The alloy is soft, not heat-treatable, and possesses tensile strength of approximately 90–120 MPa. It is characterized by high elongation and superior resistance against oxidation and corrosion in most of natural environment. Aluminium 1060 can be forged and cold worked easily into intricate shapes without loss of structure. It also possesses high electrical and thermal conductivity, which makes it an excellent option for conductors and thermal systems. It’s suitable for forming, bending, and general-purpose engineering applications.
